Position Overview
Creative Carriage Ltd. is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medium Duty Bus Service Technician to join our growing team. We manufacture and support specialized commercial and accessible transit vehicles used by municipalities, transit agencies, healthcare providers, and private operators across Canada.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in commercial vehicles, bus service, vehicle upfitting, or fleet maintenance who enjoys hands-on work in a fast-paced manufacturing and service environment.
A major focus of this role is ensuring each completed vehicle meets the company’s quality, safety, and customer delivery standards through detailed inspections, testing, and final verification processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) on completed buses and commercial vehicles
- Conduct detailed final quality inspections to verify vehicle functionality, workmanship, cleanliness, and completion status prior to customer delivery
- Identify, document, and coordinate correction of deficiencies or quality concerns
- Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled service inspections
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues on commercial vehicles and buses
- Troubleshoot lighting, charging systems, accessory circuits, and vehicle electrical systems
- Service wheelchair ramps, lifts, restraint systems, and accessibility equipment
- Assist with fabrication, fit-and-finish, and vehicle upfit support when required
- Maintain accurate inspection reports, service documentation, and work records
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with safety regulations and company quality standards
Qualifications
- Experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, vans, or fleet vehicles preferred
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship quality
- Mechanical aptitude with strong troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with electrical systems and diagnostic tools considered an asset
- Welding, fabrication, or vehicle upfit experience considered an asset
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical service documentation
- Ability to work independently and maintain high quality standards under deadlines
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team
- Valid Ontario driver’s license required
