Associate Clinical Counsellor (Independent Contractor)

Calm & Connected is growing, and we're looking for a compassionate, skilled, and motivated Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) to join our team as an Independent Contractor.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a new and growing clinic focused on supporting children, youth, caregivers, and families through a neuroaffirming, relationship-based, and practical approach to care.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about helping children, youth, and families navigate anxiety, emotional regulation, neurodivergence, behaviour challenges, trauma, school-related stress, family transitions, and other complex life experiences.

We work with children, youth, adults, caregivers, and families, with a particular interest in supporting neurodivergent individuals and those navigating complex emotional, behavioural, and family challenges.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual counselling services to children (8+), youth, adults, and caregivers
- Conduct assessments, treatment planning, and ongoing clinical documentation
- Collaborate with caregivers and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care, where appropriate
- Support clients experiencing anxiety, depression, emotional regulation, trauma, grief, behavioural concerns, and neurodivergence
- Maintain ethical and professional standards in accordance with your regulatory body
- Participate in occasional team consultation and collaboration opportunities
- Build and maintain a caseload that aligns with your clinical interests and areas of expertise
What We're Looking For (Required Qualifications)
- Registered Clinical Counsellor in good standing with BCACC (or equivalent designation eligible for independent practice
- Professional liability insurance
- Experience providing counselling services to children, youth, adults, and/or families
- Strong working knowledge of autism, ADHD, mild/moderate/severe intellectual and developmental disabilities
- Strong understanding of community-wellness, and available services/supports outside of the counselling office
- Strong clinical documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
Preferred Experience
- Parent coaching and caregiver support
- Trauma and attachment
- School-related concerns and school refusal
- Anxiety and emotional regulation
- EMDR, CBT, ACT, and/or other evidence-informed approaches

Location
The position will be based out of our new Port Coquitlam clinic beginning in July 2026, with flexibility for a hybrid work arragement.
