Job Summary
The Parry Sound Friendship Centre is seeking a highly organized, trustworthy, and community minded Health Outreach Coordinator to assist urban Indigenous people to understand the health care system and to obtain the quality care they require. Services include advocacy, assistance with forms, assistance with housing, status card applications, social assistance, promotion of healthy lifestyles, violence free families, and access to cultural healing resources.
The incumbent sets an example of cultural leadership, high moral, personal conduct and effective teamwork.

Qualifications
- Minimum college or university level accreditation or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture(s) common to the area to be served
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Group facilitation skills
- Good community development skills
- Knowledge and experience working with indigenous people
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with minimum supervision
- Knowledge and experience working with Indigenous people
- Familiar with Microsoft Programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Must have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle and a clean driver’s abstract.
- Current First Aid CPR Certificate
- Provide a CPIC/Vulnerable sector check.
- Team orientated.
