Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Administrator to manage and oversee the company's payroll processes. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintain compliance with relevant regulations, and support human resources functions related to employee compensation. Proficiency with QuickBooks is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time (weekly or bi-weekly, depending on cycle)
- Calculate wages, overtime, vacation pay, statutory deductions (CPP, EI, income tax), and benefits
- Prepare and submit payroll remittances and statutory filings
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records (new hires, terminations, changes)
- Prepare Records of Employment (ROEs) and support year-end processes (T4s/T4As)
- Respond to employee payroll-related inquiries professionally and confidentially
- Ensure compliance with Ontario and federal payroll legislation
Required
- Previous experience in payroll administration (2-3 years preferred)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Working knowledge of Canadian payroll standards and legislation
- Experience with payroll software and Microsoft Excel and Quickbooks
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
Assets
Payroll certifications or designations in Ontario, such as:
- PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner)
- CPM (Certified Payroll Manager)
- Accounts payable or general accounting experience
- Experience with multiple companies and pay rates considered an asset
Job Types: Permanent, Full-time
Pay: $27.00-$31.00 per hour
