Rôle and responsibilities
o Read and interpret technical drawings, plans, graphs, and tables
o Examine samples of parts to determine the machining operations to be performed and the optimal
sequence of operations
o Set up and operate machine tools such as milling machines and lathes in a conventional manner
o Design tools and jigs that meet the needs and requests of technicians.
o Use precision instruments to measure whether parts are compliant.
o Adjust and assemble manufactured parts.
o Work closely with the aircraft team leader to ensure that work is completed on schedule.
o Identify special tools and external services required and inform the department Manager;
o Promote the quality management system and make suggestions for improvement;
o Actively explore new ways to improve productivity while maintaining quality.
Requirements
o Vocational diploma in machining or other relevant training;
o 5+ years of experience in conventional machining;
o Experience in the aerospace industry and/or welding is an asset;
o Skills in reading plans and performing trigonometric calculations;
o Knowledge of manufacturing processes;
o Good manual dexterity, attention to detail, and spatial awareness;
o Fluency in French and/or English (spoken and written) to perform the job effectively;
o Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
