We are a growing commercial and industrial construction company specializing in high-quality construction, tenant improvements, design-build projects, industrial facilities, commercial developments, and construction management services throughout British Columbia. We are seeking an experienced Business Development Representative who can leverage existing industry relationships to generate new opportunities and drive long-term growth.
Position Overview
This is not an entry-level sales role. We are looking for a seasoned business development professional with a proven track record in commercial and industrial construction. The ideal candidate will bring an established network of industry contacts and a history of successfully generating construction opportunities and building strategic partnerships.
Responsibilities
- Identify and secure new commercial and industrial construction opportunities.
- Develop and maintain relationships with:
- Commercial realtors
- Industrial property owners
- Developers
- Property managers
- Business owners
- Engineers and architects
- Municipal contacts
- Corporate decision-makers
- Generate leads and convert opportunities into awarded projects.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, and association meetings.
- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective projects.
- Collaborate with estimating, project management, and executive teams to develop winning proposals.
- Monitor market trends, upcoming developments, and construction opportunities.
- Maintain ongoing client relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 7+ years of business development, sales, or project acquisition experience within commercial and/or industrial construction.
- Existing network of industry contacts within the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley.
- Demonstrated success generating construction projects and meeting revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of commercial construction, industrial construction, tenant improvements, and development processes.
- Experience working with developers, commercial brokers, property managers, and business owners.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated and results-driven.
Preferred
- Experience with design-build, construction management, and general contracting services.
- Background in commercial real estate, development, or construction project management.
- Membership in industry organizations such as BOMA, UDI, ICBA, or local business associations.
