Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers, including dry van trailers, over long distances following designated routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Manage route driving responsibilities, adhering to schedules and traffic laws while maintaining a high standard of safety.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, and vehicle inspections in compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules, route adjustments, or any issues encountered during trips.
Experience
- Proven experience as a commercial truck driver with a focus on long-haul routes involving dry van freight.
- Demonstrated ability to drive manual transmission trucks confidently and safely over extended distances.
- Familiarity with operating different trailer types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, or roll-off trucks is preferred.
- Prior delivery driver experience with load & unload responsibilities is highly valued.
- Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols for route driving in various environments.
- Valid AZ commercial driver’s license (CDL) with endorsements relevant to the equipment operated.
