Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor to lead and oversee asbestos abatement projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that all removal activities comply with safety regulations and industry standards. This role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise in construction and restoration, and proficiency with various tools. The supervisor will coordinate teams, manage project timelines, and ensure quality control throughout the asbestos removal process.
Responsibilities
- Prepare production and other reports
- Supervise workers and projects
- Co-ordinate and schedule activities
- Set up machines and equipment
- Estimate costs and materials
- Supervise asbestos removal projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Coordinate and lead a team of workers during asbestos abatement activities
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment to facilitate safe removal procedures
- Conduct inspections of work sites to identify potential hazards and ensure proper containment and disposal of asbestos materials
- Oversee the use of cleaning, restoration, and demolition techniques as part of the project scope
- Maintain detailed documentation of project progress, safety compliance, and material disposal records
- Train team members on proper handling procedures for asbestos-containing materials and the use of relevant tools
- Communicate effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and team members regarding project status and safety measures
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction, restoration, or demolition projects involving hazardous materials such as asbestos
- Strong knowledge of asbestos removal procedures, safety standards, and environmental regulations
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and cleaning equipment relevant to asbestos abatement
- Ability to read technical plans and follow detailed safety protocols
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and compliance purposes
