Robotics Centre is an Ottawa based advanced technology company launching domestic manufacturing of defence focused unmanned aerial systems (UAS). We design and build secure, mission critical drone platforms intended for government, defence, and public safety applications.
Position Overview
Robotics Centre is seeking a full-time FPV Pilot and Training Instructor to operate UAS platforms, deliver customer training, and support demonstrations, testing, and field operations. The role requires strong FPV flight skills, practical drone operations experience, and the ability to instruct users clearly and safely across FPV, Skydio, and fixed-wing systems.
Qualification and Experience
· Holds an Advanced Operations Drone Pilot Certificate from Transport Canada.
· 3–5 years of professional drone operations experience, including FPV flight and safe field operations.
· Experience delivering UAS training, demonstrations, or operator instruction.
· Strong working knowledge of flight planning, equipment preparation, and basic drone maintenance.
· Experience with Skydio platforms, fixed-wing UAS, or defence/public safety drone applications.
· Experience working with government, defence, law enforcement, emergency response, or public safety customers.
· Familiarity with Transport Canada RPAS requirements and Canadian drone operating procedures.
· Experience supporting product testing, field trials, or feedback collection for new technology development.
· Strong mechanical, electrical, or technical troubleshooting skills related to drones, batteries, payloads, or communications equipment.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as a Drone Operator and Trainer, including FPV, Skydio, and Fixed-Wing operations.
· Operate and deliver training on systems developed, manufactured, or sold by the Company.
· Developing training manuals and presentations.
· Filing for appropriate permits and waivers prior to flights.
· Maintaining and organizing flight gear and aircraft for use in training and customer demonstrations.
· Providing subject matter expertise to aid in the testing of new products being developed by the company.
· Travel as required to support operations, training, and demonstrations.
· Move and handle heavy equipment such as drone systems, charging systems, batteries, and demo equipments.
· Set up and dismantle equipment and displays in various environmental conditions, including wind, snow, and heat.

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
