Field Service Technician Responsibilities:
- Install, test, and commission fare collection equipment and related systems
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, and system-related issues in the field
- Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades on installed equipment
- Support ticketing systems, validators, and related transit devices
- Document service activities and maintain accurate service records
- Provide customer support and basic training on equipment usage
- Respond to service calls and participate in on-call rotation as required
Field Service Technician Qualifications:
- 2–5 years of field service or technical support experience
- Experience troubleshooting electromechanical equipment in the field
- Diploma or certificate in Electronics, Electrical, or Mechatronics (or equivalent experience)
- Basic networking knowledge including IP configuration and cabling
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Ability to travel within the assigned Canadian region
- Physically able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
