Summary
We are seeking a Subsea Pilot to join our dynamic team in Canada. Based on the coast, this role is vital for ensuring the safe navigation and operation of marine vessels involved in our subsea projects. The position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure.
Responsibilities
The Subsea Superintendent is responsible for:
- Reading and understanding the objectives as laid out in the MOP (Method of Procedure) for each project
- Attending all project meetings and providing an objective opinion based on experience to ensure that project parameters are being followed and project goals are achieved
- Reviewing all project information with regards to bottom conditions, soil density etc to ensure burial depth of the cable can be achieved, briefs Subsea Supervisors as to project parameters and goals ensuring each shift can carry on with the tasks at hand with the knowledge required
- Reviewing the survey data of all post repairs on cabling systems to ensure the proper jetting techniques are used to carry our PLIB or PRIB,
- Ensuring the safe launch and recovery of Subsea assets both ROV and Plough
- Administering and controlling of all Subsea stores and equipment including inventory, expenditure control and requisitioning
- Maintaining current and accurate records of all maintenance
- Monitoring all situations which may result in environmental pollutions incidents and taking appropriate preventative measures
Qualifications
- Marine Medical
- STCW Basic Safety Training / BOSIET
- Seaman's Book
- Basic First Aid Experience
- 5 Years experience as a subsea superintendent in the cable industry
- 10 years experience on SMD subsea ploughs and TravOcean ROVJET trenching ROVs
- 5 years experience on tracked subsea trenchers
- Client rep experience a bonus
- Teledyne TSS 340, 440 & 350 operation & maintenance
Reports to: OIM for operations / Master for all else
