The warehouse supervisor is responsible for overseeing all daily warehouse activities, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of goods, maintaining a safe and organized work environment, and fostering a high-performing team
- Supervise, coach, mentor, and motivate a team of warehouse associates, ensuring productivity, safety, and adherence to schedules
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure proper task completion. Conduct performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and facilitate professional development for team members.
- Resolve personnel, equipment, and workflow issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee all warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, loading, and shipping of products.
- Ensure accurate handling and movement of products and materials, maintaining inventory integrity.
- Researching root causes for inventory variances and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Ensuring proper labeling, stock rotation (FIFO), and removing damaged or expired items.
- Monitor and optimize warehouse layout and space utilization to improve efficiency.
- Ensure all warehouse equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) is working properly and arrange for maintenance as needed
- Ensure compliance with inbound and outbound processes, including FIFO standards.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations (e.g., health and safety, food safety, if applicable).
- Train team members on safety procedures, equipment operation, and best practices.
- Workweeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday 10:30am – 7:00pm.
- Entitled to one half hour lunch, unpaid.
- Physically demanding:
– Standing for extended periods of time
– Crouching, bending often required
– Frequent walking
– Handling products weighing up to 50lbs
- Working conditions are normal for an office/warehouse environment. Occasional weekend and/or evening work and overtime may be required.
- 3-5 years of previous experience in a warehouse supervisory role
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of inventory systems and RF scanners is an asset
