Service Writer Job Description
OVERVIEW:
- Following direction of Service Supervisor/Manager and Branch/Division Manager.
- Managing Customer Relations, answering phones in a polite, timely manner.
- Manage, schedule and maintain customer jobs.
- Ensure compliance with company and industry policies and procedures.
- Increase the overall productivity of the branch by projecting a positive upbeat attitude, especially when dealing with customers.
- Maintain fruitful relationships with current customers and establish good relationships with new ones.
- Maintain and submit warranty claims. Keep track of and record of warranty parts.
- Responsible for overall housekeeping of office area and customer washrooms.
- Reports to the Service Supervisor/Manager and/or Branch/Division Manager.
ROLE:
- Support Staff for Service, Sales and Division/Branch Manager.
- Work with and supports Service Manager to:
o Service writing and checking in with customers.
o Invoicing and Parts Accounting for Service Vehicles.
o Invoicing and payment taking.
- Work with and supports Parts Person to:
o Order, Receive and Sell Parts.
o Help maintain proper inventory levels based on history and parts forecasts.
- Work with and supports Sales Department to:
o Maintain relationship with current customers.
o Promote Polar parts and service.
o Increase customer base.
- Works with and supports Office Support Staff
o Invoicing.
o Customer Greeting (Phone and Walk In).
o Office Cleanliness, Washroom, Customer Lounge, Staff Room.
COMPETENCIES:
- Pleasurable personality to deal with customers.
- Willingness to go the extra mile and communicate with customers and management.
- Computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Excel etc.
- Ability to provide support for Service Supervisors/Managers.
SUMMARY:
The most important role of the Service Writer is to greet and check in customers on a daily basis. Management and tracking of warranty parts as well as supporting Service Supervisor/Manager daily. The Service Writer communicates with customers and must place a high importance on customer service and listening to and communicating the customers needs to Service Staff/Management.

Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
