ICON Sheet Metal Ltd. is a Vancouver Island based sheet metal contracting company, operating and completing projects throughout Vancouver Island. We specialize in multi-unit condos, tenant improvements and small to large commercial fit outs. We offer installation for new and or existing commercial or industrial building projects.
Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Foreman / Supervisor to oversee the installation of ducting and sheet metal work on a variety of commercial and multi-family residential projects. Position Accountabilities
- Installation & Fabrication: Participate in the layout, fabrication, and installation of ductwork and related sheet metal components.
- Quality Control: Ensure all work meets or exceeds industry standards, project specifications, and client expectations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor, train, and guide junior team members; foster a positive, safety-conscious, and productive work environment.
- Scheduling & Coordination: Work closely with project managers, contractors, and other trades to develop and maintain project timelines, ensuring that deliverables are met efficiently.
- Communication: Act as the point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders regarding project progress, issues, and changes.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and site requirements.
Required Experience
- Experience: Some trade experience is preferred. Pay to be based on level of experience.
- Technical Skills: Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, plans, and architectural drawings is preferred. Familiarity with various sheet metal fabrication tools and HVAC equipment.
- Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to motivate, and work well with others; strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for identifying potential issues or deviations, ensuring precision in fabrication and installation.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with clients, project managers, and trades.
- Work Ethic: Strong organizational skills and commitment to meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
- Licenses/Certifications: Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, HVAC-related, or sheet metal apprenticeship completion) preferred
Please note, this position can be based out of Nanaimo or Victoria, BC and travel may be required between Victoria and Mid-Vancouver Island.
Pay: $24.00-$40.00 per hour
