Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Therapist to join our ABA centre and support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other developmental needs. The Senior Therapist will play a key role in conducting assessments, developing and implementing individualized behaviour intervention plans, supervising therapy sessions, and collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams. This role requires strong clinical, analytical, and communication skills to ensure effective, evidence-based interventions and measurable client progress.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Psychology, Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), Child Development, Special Education, or a related field.
- Extensive experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities.
- Strong knowledge of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) principles and behavioural intervention strategies.
- Experience conducting behavioural assessments and developing individualized Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Knowledge of data-driven decision making and evidence-based intervention strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct behavioural assessments, functional behaviour assessments (FBA), and skill assessments to identify client needs.
- Develop and implement individualized Behaviour Intervention Plans (BIPs) and treatment programs based on assessment results.
- Supervise and guide behaviour therapists and ensure interventions are implemented effectively.
- Monitor client progress through data collection, analysis, and graphing to evaluate treatment effectiveness.
- Prepare professional clinical reports, progress summaries, and documentation in accordance with organizational and professional standards.
- Conduct parent meetings and training sessions, providing guidance on implementing behavioural strategies at home.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including psychologists, therapists, educators, and other professionals, to support comprehensive treatment planning.
- Modify intervention plans based on ongoing data analysis and client progress.
- Ensure all services are delivered according to ethical and professional standards and maintain confidentiality of client information.
- Support staff development through coaching, modeling intervention strategies, and providing feedback.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Strong knowledge of behaviour analysis, reinforcement strategies, prompting, shaping, task analysis, and behaviour reduction techniques.
- Proficiency in data collection systems, progress tracking, and graphing behavioural data.
- Excellent report writing and documentation skills.
- Strong clinical observation and analytical skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining high-quality client care.
Additional Requirements
- Experience working in ABA centres, clinics, schools, or community settings is preferred.
- Up-to-date police background check.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
Pay: $25.00-$35.00 per hour
