Job Summary:
The Villa by Nerval is one of Edmonton's premier luxury event venues, specializing in weddings, corporate events, galas, cultural celebrations, and private functions. We are seeking an experienced, ambitious, and results-driven Senior Sales Manager to lead our sales efforts and drive revenue growth.
Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Senior Sales Manager will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, overseeing the sales pipeline, mentoring the sales team, and achieving ambitious revenue targets. This role requires a hospitality professional with strong leadership skills, exceptional relationship-building abilities, and a passion for creating extraordinary client experiences.
Key Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Revenue Growth
- Lead venue sales efforts for weddings, corporate events, galas, fundraisers, conferences, and social celebrations.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue goals.
- Identify new business opportunities and cultivate relationships with corporate clients, event planners, associations, and community organizations.
- Manage the sales pipeline from inquiry to contract execution.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to improve conversion rates and profitability.
- Forecast sales revenue and provide regular reports to ownership and General Manager.
Client Relations & Business Development
- Conduct high-level client meetings and personalized venue tours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, event planners, vendors, and industry partners.
- Represent The Villa at networking events, trade shows, wedding expos, and community functions.
- Negotiate contracts and secure bookings while maximizing venue revenue opportunities.
- Ensure an exceptional client experience throughout the sales process.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and mentor the sales and event coordination team.
- Establish sales goals, performance metrics, and accountability standards.
- Support team members with closing strategies, client presentations, and proposal development.
- Foster a culture of professionalism, collaboration, and excellence.
Marketing & Brand Development
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaigns that generate qualified leads.
- Identify emerging market trends and opportunities within the hospitality and events industry.
- Support social media, promotional events, open houses, and venue showcases.
- Strengthen The Villa's reputation as Edmonton's premier luxury event destination.
Reporting & Administration
- Maintain accurate records within CRM and event management systems.
- Track lead generation, conversion rates, booking pace, and revenue performance.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and annual sales reports.
- Analyze market conditions and competitor activity to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of sales leadership experience in hospitality, hotels, event venues, catering, or luxury services.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
- Strong network within the Edmonton business, wedding, and event community is considered an asset.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience managing and mentoring sales professionals.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and event management software.
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for hospitality and guest experiences.
- Ability to work flexible hours, and weekends when required.
