Job Purpose
To install underground lawn sprinkler systems in a professional, safe, friendly, and ethical manner.
Reports To
Installation Supervisor/Crew Chief/Foreman
Duties (Responsibilities) include:
- Represent Raintree in a professional and courteous manner when interacting with customers, contractors, and fellow employees
- Provide manual labour assistance to complete installations in accordance with priorities including digging, trenching, backfilling, raking and tamping sites to original condition or better
- Clearly communicate with customers, contractors and fellow staff members while developing relationships
- Install, connect pipe and fittings in the accepted manner
- Following supervisor, crew chiefs/foreman instructions
- Willing to work as a team, learn new tasks and techniques
- Operate machinery and equipment while adhering to H&S policies
- Ensure vehicle and trailers are properly stocked, loaded and maintained
- Reporting includes truck logs, invoices, site reports, and account updates
- Work in a safe manner while following Raintree’s H&S policies including PPE, in addition to the job/site’s related safety policies
- Create a positive attitude towards Raintree’s H&S policies and procedures
- Uphold and promote safety policies and procedures and support enforcement
- Perform openings, closings, and repair work as required
- Housekeeping
- Other duties as required
Qualifications/Skills Required
- Customer service oriented
- Mechanically inclined (plumbing/pipe fitting/ electrical experience with a multimeter)
- Willing to perform and excel at physical labour
- Punctual, meticulous and reliable
- Problem solver
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Trustworthy
- Able to work unsupervised and as a team
- Valid Driver’s license
- Experience driving a trailer is an asset
- Maintain high standards of personal conduct on the job site including driving habits
- Maintain high standard of uniform policy including blue pants, shirts and hats with Raintree logo
Working Conditions/Requirements
- Territories extend in many areas across the Golden Horseshoe and Greater Toronto area
- Work weeks are 5 days, Monday to Friday starting at 7:30 in the morning
- Saturdays during peak periods
- Demanding (tough) weather conditions (working outside in heat, cold, rainy inclement weather)
- Frequently exposed to noise and a regular flow of people
- Frequently assigned to changing priorities
- May be required to work overtime, with paid compensation
- Extended periods of digging may be required
- Working on customers’ properties
- Extensive walking can be involved· Ability to lift 30 pounds
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 months
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
