Overview:
The Town of Stewiacke is currently accepting applications for a permanent part-time position of After School Care LEAD (rate of pay $21-23/HR). The successful candidate will be self-motivated, people oriented and will provide a welcoming and supportive environment for 24 children during the after-school period. This is a part-time position (20 hours per week). This position operates during the school year (September – June).
Nature of the Position
The After School Care Lead will report to the Director of Community Development. This position will organizing after-school plans for children, with a minimum of 1 hour of outdoor time, regardless of weather, coordinate snacks, handle incidents, and other various duties.
Education and Experience
· Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a childcare setting (recreational day camp programming, daycare setting etc.).
· Diploma or graduate degree in related field (ECE, Recreation, Human Services etc).
· High 5 Training, NVCI, First Aid Level C
Competencies
· Excellent organizational skills;
· Excellent interpersonal and communication (listening, written, verbal) skills;
· Possess problem solving abilities and abilities to prioritize needs within the program registrants.
· Program planning and implementation
