We are a staffing agency that provides temporary and permanent staffing solutions to various clients in the hospitality industry. We are currently hiring for Line Cooks for our clients located in the Muskoka District.
Our clients vary from Fine Dining Restaurants, Resorts and Summer Camps
These are full time positions until Thanksgiving, you must legally be able to work 40 plus hours in a week. Must hold a Valid SIN and Work permit.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for the food industry and possess excellent culinary skills. As Line Cooks, you will be responsible for assisting in meal preparation, ensuring food safety standards, and contributing to a positive kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients for menu items
- Prepare and cook menu items as per client specifications.
- Ensure all proper food handling and sanitation procedures are followed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient and timely service.
- Ensure quality and consistency of food products.
- Assist in cooking and assembling dishes according to restaurant recipes
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to deliver high-quality meals
- Help with inventory management and stock rotation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a kitchen environment
- Experienced knife skills
- Experience in fine dining restaurants
- Experience working in a Resort or Golf Club kitchen is ideal
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and techniques
- Ability to follow recipes accurately
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Understanding of basic cooking methods and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Certification in food safety is a plus
Requirements
- Must have your own chef uniform with hat (black chef jacket)
- Own knives set preferred
- Must have flexibility in shift timings - morning and evenings
- Must be able to work weekends
