Seeking a Fresh Fish Market Associate to work in our Lighthouse! Ideal candidates will display an upbeat attitude and an enthusiasm for quality seafood. From displaying lobsters and offering local tourist information, to encouraging customers to climb to the top of the Lighthouse, it's all part of our customer's experience.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and provide knowledgeable assistance on fresh fish selections and food preparation tips
- Handle seafood with care, following strict food safety and hygiene protocols to ensure product quality
- Prepare fish for sale by filleting, portioning, or packaging according to standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the fish display case and retail area, ensuring all products are properly stored and labeled
- Assist in inventory management by receiving deliveries, checking freshness, and rotating stock regularly
- Educate customers on different types of seafood, cooking methods, and nutritional benefits to enhance their shopping experience
- Follow all food handling regulations and safety procedures to uphold health standards at all times
Experience
- Previous experience in the food industry, especially in seafood or meat preparation, is preferred
- Knowledge of food handling practices and safety regulations is essential for maintaining product integrity
- Kitchen experience or culinary background can help in understanding food presentation and customer needs
- Strong customer service skills and a positive, friendly attitude is key for this role
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing physical tasks such as preparing food products and packaging seafood
