Express Employment Professionals is hiring a Parts Counter Person on behalf of our client, a well-established, locally owned company specializing in the sales, service, and repair of trailers, lawn care equipment, tools, and related products in Halifax, NS.
This is a customer-focused role where you'll be the first point of contact for customers looking for parts, accessories, and product support. You'll assist customers in person, over the phone, and by email, helping them identify the right parts while providing exceptional service in a busy and fast-paced environment.
This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, likes staying busy, and takes pride in being organized and dependable. While experience in a parts department is an asset, our client is more interested in finding someone with a positive attitude, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn.
What you’ll be doing:
- Assist customers in person, by phone, and by email with parts inquiries and orders
- Identify and source the correct parts for trailers, lawn care equipment, tools, and related products
- Build positive relationships with customers by providing knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient service
- Prepare quotes, process sales transactions, and complete invoices accurately
- Receive, organize, stock, and maintain inventory in the parts department
- Order parts from suppliers and track outstanding orders
- Coordinate with the service department to ensure technicians have the parts they need
- Help maintain an organized, clean, and efficient parts counter and warehouse area
- Assist with shipping, receiving, and other general duties as needed
- Work collaboratively with a small team to support day-to-day operations
What we’re looking for:
- Previous customer service, retail, parts counter, or related experience is considered an asset
- Friendly, professional, and enjoys helping customers
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Comfortable learning new products and computer systems
- Mechanically inclined or interested in learning about trailers, equipment, and related products
- Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Reliable, dependable, and self-motivated
- Experience in industries such as trailers, automotive, heavy equipment, agriculture, powersports, construction supply, equipment rental, or similar industries is considered an asset - but we're happy to train the right person with the right attitude
What Our Client Offers:
