Victoria Pulse Trading Corp. (VPTC) is a pulse processing and export company headquartered in Vancouver, BC, with a processing facility in Francis, Saskatchewan. We purchase, process, and export lentils, peas, canary seed, and flaxseed to international B2B buyers across Asia, the Middle East, and beyond. As we grow our global footprint, we are looking for a detail-oriented Import/Export Coordinator to join our Vancouver team.
Role Overview
The Import/Export Coordinator will be responsible for managing the end-to-end documentation, compliance, and coordination of international shipments. This role works closely with the operations team, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and international buyers to ensure shipments are executed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and manage all export documentation including bills of lading, certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates, commercial invoices, and packing lists
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods
- Track shipments from loading through to destination and proactively communicate status updates to buyers and internal stakeholders
- Liaise with the plant team in Francis, SK to align on production schedules, loading timelines, and shipment readiness
- Support accounts receivable processes related to international transactions, including letters of credit and payment documentation
- Maintain accurate shipment records and update internal tracking systems
- Monitor and communicate changes in customs regulations, tariffs, and trade compliance requirements
- Assist with buyer onboarding, contract administration, and correspondence as needed
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on experience in import/export coordination, freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or international trade operations
- Strong knowledge of export documentation requirements and international trade compliance
- Experience working with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers
- Familiarity with letters of credit, trade finance documents, and payment terms
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple active shipments simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in the agricultural commodities sector is an asset but not required
Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour
