Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Portuguese-speaking Personal Support Worker (PSW) to join our caregiving team. This role involves providing high-quality, personalized care to clients in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the well-being of seniors and individuals with disabilities, with the ability to communicate effectively in Portuguese. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Provide medication administration and ensure proper documentation according to care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Support patients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting when required
- Help with light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning and maintaining a safe environment
- Monitor health status and report any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals or family members
- Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Follow care plans accurately and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
Qualifications
- Proven experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice, or home care environments is preferred
- Strong knowledge of patient care, dementia care, senior care, and caregiving best practices
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is advantageous
- Ability to communicate fluently in Portuguese; bilingual skills are highly valued
- Compassionate nature with excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; reliability is essential
- Certification or training in medication administration is a plus but not mandatory
- Valid driver’s license may be preferred for certain roles involving client transportation

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
