Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide in-office support to our Radiologist during Pain Management procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and comfort and will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care before and after Pain Management exams.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Drawing medication for procedures for Technologist.
- Collecting informed consent and provide procedure information with patients before exams as required.
- Monitor patient during procedure, assessing overall condition.
- Assist patient with patient question support before and after procedures.
- Must have a well-maintained reliable vehicle and a valid driver’s license.
- Must possess or be willing to obtain professional liability insurance from the Canadian Nurse’s Protective Society (CNPS) or through the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA.)
- Must be willing to wear mask during times in Pain Management department and uphold high standards of cleanliness and sanitization.
- Must be willing to adhere to a fragrance free and smoke free environment.
- Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards within the licensing body scope of practice as observed by the management and facility policy & procedures.
- Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing in English.
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word, Excel and e-mail required.
- Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professionalism in challenging situations.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to assist with specimen collection is a plus.
- We have openings for a Full-time, Part-time role and a Casual role.
- Must be willing to work Saturdays when the clinic is open (variable 1-2 Saturdays per month).
- Wage range is variable and dependant on experience.
Professional and Personal Qualifications
- Current registration and in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta.
- Current BLS certification, to be re-certified annually.
- Current First Aid certification, to be re-certified every three years.
- Have the necessary communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interaction between all persons, including coworkers.
- Have effective organizational skills.
- Be able and willing to work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
- You have a positive approach to teamwork.
- Assume responsibility to maintain or improve personal health and well-being.
- Able to provide and receive constructive feedback.
- Basic computer skills required to utilize programs within the clinic setting.
As a licensed practical nurse, you collaborate with a medical team and apply nursing procedures, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and decision-making abilities. You will play a crucial part in providing safe, top-notch care to patients and their families, while staying true to the shared vision and values of Saddletown Radiology.
