The Role
This position will be responsible for assisting the Dean, Recruitment with all international student inquiries, provide ongoing support for international students, and assist in coordinating orientation activities for students. The International Student Recruitment & Retention Specialist will focus on executing strategies to positively influence the student experience and grow the reputation of NWP to increase student recruitment and success. This position travels regionally and internationally to serve prospective students. Working collaboratively with all NWP departments, the International Student Recruitment & Retention Specialist will represent NWP.
This is a 12 month term-certain position with an anticipated start date of 8 June 2026 (subject to candidate availability) and ending on 18 June 2027 (leave replacement position).
Job duties will include:
- Travel and represent NWP at recruitment events
- Conduct group presentations in schools or organizations, campus tours, and promote the student experience, which includes prospective student advising, career guidance, and recruitment events
- Support production of publications for recruitment purposes
- Actively promote the unique opportunities that are offered by NWP virtually, in person, and on social media
- Support the coordination and execution of recruitment events
- Respond accurately and efficiently to all prospective student inquiries
- Provide input for NWP-wide strategies on international education.
- Respond to day-to-day operational questions from International Agents with whom NWP has agreements and refer to Associate Dean where necessary
- Establish and nurture relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
- Actively pursue and maintain professional, supportive relationships with students
- Provide support to international students such as planning for arrival, arranging meet and greet, and introduction to the community and resources. (e.g., Alberta Health Care).
- Direct international students to appropriate supports and services within NWP and the community.
- Support coordination and implementation of New Student Orientation and welcome week
- Support coordination and implementation of retention focused activities to promote international student academic and non-academic success, such as information sessions related to academic integrity or celebrations of diversity.

Job Requirements:
The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree and one year related job experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered. Familiarity with post secondary systems as well as educational systems globally will be an asset.
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:

- Class 5 Drivers License
