Applications are welcome from qualified Psychotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and Social Workers with relevant mental health experience and registration in good standing with their respective regulatory college. Occupational Therapists, Nurses, and Social Workers must be competent to perform the controlled act of psychotherapy as outlined by their regulatory college.
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- A Baccalaureate Degree in Occupational Therapy, Nursing or Social work is required
- Member of a designated registered Health Care Professional College, entitled to practice psychotherapy required
- Licensed and registered to practice Psychotherapy an asset
- Demonstrated skill and judgement in group adult psychotherapy required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers (HCP) Certificate required (recent within the last twelve months)
- Current Gentle Persuasive Approach (GPA) Certificate an asset
- Recent clinical experience (within last 2 years) in a mental health and/or addictions setting
- Ability to provide a wide range of counselling, support, advocacy and educational services to clients and family
members, as required
- Demonstrate experience with substance use interventions (i.e. Motivational Interviewing (MI), Stages of Change)
- Experience developing and facilitating group psychotherapy
- Experience in providing individual psychotherapy
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in implementing recovery informed approaches including, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) techniques
- Advanced knowledge of community resources and service systems that support individuals with concurrent disorders required
- Demonstrated ability to provide culturally safe care
- Demonstrated critical problem solving and decision-making skills

- Must be involved in continuing education and demonstrate commitment to quality improvement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and able to organize and prioritize workload
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with all members of an Interdisciplinary health care team which includes clients,
families and community partners
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills required
- Ability to meet the physical demands required for a community-based team
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention to ensure the safety of self, fellow workers, patients,
volunteers, and visitors
- Excellent attendance and work record required
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
