The Role
We're looking for a hands-on HR Generalist who thrives on solving real problems, not just following a script. You'll be the go-to person for HR questions and employee relations across the business, lead hiring for our office and retail management roles, run our employee engagement initiatives, and help us build better, simpler HR processes as we scale. You'll also be cross-trained as payroll backup coverage.
This is a role for someone who wants ownership - not someone looking for a quiet, hands-off HR seat.
What you'll do
-
Be the first point of contact for HR questions and day-to-day employee relations
-
Lead investigations, guide managers through documentation and progressive discipline, and keep things moving to resolution
-
Run full-cycle recruitment for office and retail management roles
-
Build and improve HR tools - SOPs, templates, trackers - that make life easier for managers and employees
-
Plan and execute employee engagement initiatives and surveys
-
Provide payroll backup coverage during vacations/absences
What you bring
-
3–6+ years of HR Generalist experience in a fast-paced environment (multi-site retail/warehouse is a strong asset)
-
Solid working knowledge of Ontario employment standards (Alberta exposure a plus)
-
Comfortable handling sensitive employee relations matters with minimal oversight
-
Strong documentation and organizational skills
-
HRIS experience preferred (ADP a plus)
This role is for you if you...
-
Take ownership and figure things out instead of waiting for direction
-
Enjoy building structure where it doesn't fully exist
-
Aren't afraid to challenge how things are done and push for better ways to work
-
See change as normal, not a disruption - we're constantly evolving
