Compensation Range (includes salary, taxable apartment benefit & shift premium): $90,000 - $ 105,000
Description:
We are seeking a Lead HVAC Mechanic to lead our Burlington Branch HVAC team. This full-time permanent position offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will provide technical and operational leadership by overseeing day-to-day HVAC maintenance and repairs, supervising a small team of mechanics, managing branch budgets, coordinating capital mechanical projects and retrofits.
Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership and day-to-day direction to a team of HVAC mechanics within the Burlington Branch
- Maintain focus on tenant satisfaction and energy conservation
- Troubleshoot all aspects of HVAC in high-rise apartment buildings including
boilers, variable-speed drives, pumps, motors, Cooling/HP equipment, MUA, and working with our Building Automation System (BAS)
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment
- Monitor, diagnose, and optimize building automation systems (BAS) and HVAC controls
- Manage branch operating budgets and assist with forecasting HVAC maintenance and repair costs
- Oversee HVAC-related mechanical projects
- Maintain HVAC maintenance records, project documentation, and regulatory compliance logs (TSSA)
- Regularly update knowledge and skills through employer-sponsored educational programs
- Comply with all applicable safety code requirements and company policies
- Participate in the after-hours emergency response rotation as required
Skills and Qualifications:
- Gas license – G1 required
- Minimum 5 years of commercial, institutional, or multi-residential HVAC experience
- Excellent HVAC troubleshooting skills
- Effective knowledge in HVAC automation systems is an asset
- Refrigeration license (313A) is an asset.
- Efficient time manager with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally in-person, over the phone, remote meetings and via e-mail.
