Walkies & Whiskers is an award-winning, women-owned pet care company serving dogs and cats across Montreal. As our client base continues to grow, we're looking for reliable, animal-loving team members to join our team immediately.
This is a part-time position (5–15+ hours per week) with opportunities for additional hours and growth within the company.
Seeking dog walkers with:
- Weekday availability between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM
- Availability for at least one weekend morning or midday shift (Saturday and/or Sunday)
Downtown Montreal (2-3 Position Available)
We are also seeking a dedicated dog boarder to care for dogs in their own home.
Applicants should:
- Have a safe, dog-friendly home environment
- Be permitted to have dogs in their residence
- Be comfortable caring for dogs overnight and during extended stays
- Have previous dog handling experience
What You'll Be Doing
- Private dog walks (30–60 minutes)
- Pet sitting visits and basic animal care
- Following detailed care instructions
- Providing photos and updates after visits
- Safe leash handling and dog behaviour awareness
- Managing keys, lockboxes, and client access instructions responsibly
- Delivering exceptional care and customer service
What We're Looking For
✅ Must be 18 years of age or older
✅ Comfortable working outdoors year-round, including Montreal winters
✅ Reliable, punctual, and professional
✅ Strong communication skills
✅ Comfortable working independently
✅ Confident handling dogs of various sizes and temperaments
✅ Smartphone required for scheduling, updates, and communication
Strong Assets
- Experience with reactive dogs
- Previous dog walking experience
- Veterinary, shelter, rescue, grooming, daycare, or pet sitting experience
- Knowledge of canine body language and behaviour
- Access to a vehicle
Important Notes
This role may involve working with reactive, energetic, or large-breed dogs. Confidence and experience handling dogs safely are strong assets.
Walks are scheduled within designated time windows, and punctuality is essential.
This is an active position requiring daily outdoor walking in all seasons.
