Role Overview:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual who is eager to learn, take on increasing responsibilities, and grow into a more senior accounting role over time.
Role Requirements
Due to the administrative and transactional nature of the Junior Corporate Accountant role, strong organizational skills and a high level of attention to detail are essential. As this position is primarily remote, the successful candidate will be self-motivated, highly independent, and able to manage responsibilities effectively while working with minimal supervision. Exposure to or hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is considered an asset and would support success in this role.
This is a primarily remote position, with occasional in-office attendance required for collaboration, training, and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Work extensively with QuickBooks Online/NetSuite ERP for transactional processing:
- Accounts Payable (AP): Process and code vendor invoices, match PO and supporting documentation, and assist with the preparation of weekly payment runs. Track approval status and follow up with internal stakeholders on pending approvals
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Prepare and issue customer invoices, apply incoming payments (including cheque deposit), and support the follow-up of overdue accounts.
- Expense Reports/Credit Card: Review and audit employee travel and entertainment expense claims for compliance.
Handle basic matching process of reconciliations:
- Bank & Credit Card reconciliations: Matching bank statements to the company's internal ledger to identify missing receipts or bank fees.
- Subsidiary Ledgers: Support intercompany account matching and reconciliation activities.
Audit and compliance assistance
- Sourcing Evidence: Exporting data and schedules from accounting software into Excel. Pulling specific invoices or bank statements requested by external auditors.
General administrative and office support
- Document filing: Scan and Upload documents and maintain basic tracking logs (Excel or shared tools). Organize and maintain digital accounting records, ensuring files are properly labeled, securely stored, and easily retrievable for audit and reference purposes.
- Administrative: Manage incoming and outgoing accounting-related communications, including monitoring and triaging shared accounting mailboxes.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualification Requirement:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related discipline. Active pursuit of the CPA designation.
- Exposure to hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with the aptitude to learn new software quickly.
- Experience working in a publicly listed company or a public accounting firm is considered an asset
- Knowledge of Canadian accounting standards (IFRS) and CRA compliance (GST/HST, payroll, corporate tax basics).
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across teams.
- Strong work ethic, with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
- Bilingual (English/French) is considered an asset.
