Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Class 1 Driver to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy-duty commercial vehicles to transport freight efficiently and reliably across various routes. Duties
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial trucks, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Transport freight between distribution centers, warehouses, and customer locations with precision and care
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, including checking brakes, lights, tires, and other critical systems
- Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment when necessary, ensuring proper handling and securement
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, mileage logs, and vehicle inspections
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse teams to coordinate schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in optimal condition
Experience
- Valid Class 1 (or equivalent) commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience operating heavy trucks in a commercial setting
- Familiarity with forklift operation and freight handling procedures
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation and safety protocols
- Basic automotive repair skills for routine vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and comply with safety standards at all times
