Dishwasher – Leaside, Toronto, ON
The Career Foundation is currently looking for a Dishwasher on behalf of one of our employer partners located in Leaside, Toronto. This is a great opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen environment and take pride in maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Position Summary:
The Dishwasher will be responsible for ensuring all kitchen equipment, dishware, and utensils are cleaned and sanitized according to health and safety standards. The successful candidate will support the culinary team by maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure cleanliness and proper storage of all dishware, utensils, pots, and pans
- Load, operate, and unload dishwashing machines
- Monitor dishwashing equipment to ensure sanitary wash cycles are maintained
- Record temperature and chemical levels during each shift
- Maintain adequate levels of clean tableware for dining and kitchen operations
- Remove garbage and recycling and dispose of waste properly
- Clean and sanitize the dish pit area, pot sinks, and surrounding floors
- Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns to management
- Assist kitchen team members as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen leadership team
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Previous dishwasher or kitchen experience is an asset
- Positive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment
- Ability to work independently when required
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical tasks including bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hot, humid, and noisy environment
- Police background check may be required
- Food Handler Certification is an asset
- Flexible availability, including weekends
- Available for call-ins
- Basic English communication skills required
