Job Overview
We are seeking two skilled Sheet Metal apprentices with experience to join our team. Please note there are strict rules regarding sheet metal work in Alberta through AIT and that candidates must be working through an accredited institution in order to obtain hours and legally work under the supervision of a Journeyman in this trade. Please see the AIT website for more information. ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE REGISTERED WITH AN AIT NUMBER AND BLUE BOOK for sheet metal. You will be asked to provide this prior to HR scheduling an interview. We will not interview apprentices registered in other trades for these positions.
The ideal candidates will be responsible for fabricating, refitting HVAC assembling, and installing sheet metal products and systems under the supervision of a journeyman. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes. The Sheet Metal apprentices will work closely with a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker and other tradespeople to ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Refit and assemble sheet metal components for an HVAC refit according to specifications.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing metal.
- Collaborate other trades to complete projects efficiently.
- Perform restoration work on existing metal structures as needed.
- Apply caulking and perform construction painting as part of the finishing process.
- Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards.
Skills
- MUST BE REGISTERED IN A SHEET METAL PROGRAM THROUGH AIT AND SAIT. Must have some previous experience to apply
- Proficient in using hand tools related to sheet metal work.
- Strong background in construction practices and techniques.
- Knowledge of construction principles is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
