Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dependable Fleet Automotive Mechanic to support oilfield operations by maintaining and repairing a fleet of F350 Pickup trucks, ATVs, Argo’s, Skidoo’s and trailers. This role is critical to ensuring equipment reliability and safety in demanding field conditions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in remote environments and can troubleshoot issues independently with minimal supervision. This role typically does not involve working Saturday or Sunday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on pickups, trailers, and ATVs / UTVs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in field and shop settings
- Conduct pre-trip, post-trip, and scheduled inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and parts usage logs
- Monitor fleet condition and proactively identify potential failures
- Coordinate with operations to prioritize repairs
- Ensure all work complies with company policies, OH&S standards, and industry regulations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace (field trucks and shop areas)
Qualifications:
- Journeyman Automotive Service Technician (or equivalent certification)
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience working on fleet vehicles, preferably in oilfield or industrial environments
- Strong working knowledge of engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, and trailer systems
- Experience with off-road equipment such as ATVs/UTVs required
- Valid driver’s license (Class 5 minimum)
- Ability to read and interpret service manuals, schematics, and diagnostic data
- Experience with diagnostic tools and software
