Our client, located in the Greater Toronto Area, is actively seeking a Lead Service Technician to join their team.
Position Overview:
This is a full-time hybrid position based in the Greater Toronto Area. The Lead Service Technician will be responsible for overseeing the installation, testing, maintenance, and repair of food distribution and regeneration equipment. The successful candidate will provide exceptional customer support, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot technical issues, and collaborate with internal teams to continuously improve service standards and processes.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with product demonstrations and supporting the acquisition of service and preventative maintenance contracts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, test, maintain, and repair food distribution and regeneration equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues through on-site troubleshooting and repairs.
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance to maximize equipment performance and longevity.
- Provide technical support and guidance to customers.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through prompt and effective service.
- Collaborate with internal teams to improve service processes and standards.
- Assist with product demonstrations and support business development initiatives related to service contracts.
- Travel as required to customer locations and training facilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of complex equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and field service skills.
- Working knowledge of commercial refrigeration systems; certification is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems and the ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.
- High school diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Technology is an asset.
- Excellent mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude.
- Minimum 2–3 years of related experience preferred.
- Ability and willingness to learn new technologies.
- Valid driver's license with a clean and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel within Canada and to the United States for customer support and training.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Relevant technical certifications or maintenance/engineering training are considered an asset.
- Previous experience in the food service industry or a related field is an advantage.
- Bilingualism (French – spoken and written) is a strong asset.
