Blue Water Milk Transport Co-operative is a mid-sized bulk milk transportation company operating late model day cab tractors and 3 or 5-axle tank trailers. We have been in business locally for more than 55 years and have an immediate opening for a licensed 310T or 310J heavy truck/trailer diesel mechanic or level 3 apprentice.
Working directly with and reporting to the Shop Manager, this candidate will contribute to the success of our existing service and maintenance plan, working out of our Strathroy shop.
Duties include:
· PM service/inspections
· Repair and diagnose equipment
· Annual safety inspections, as per Ministry guidelines
· Moving equipment in and out of maintenance facility and other destinations for repairs
· Shop organization and clean up
· Other duties as required
Skills/Qualifications:
· Currently a registered apprentice or licensed 310T/310J mechanic
· Minimum 1 year diesel heavy truck experience combined with multi-axle trailer experience
· Understanding of electrical diagnostics, engine and powertrain an asset
· Experience with computerized diagnostics and familiarity with Mack/Volvo Tech Tool
· Experience using oxy-acetylene torches and MIG welding mild steel and stainless
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
· Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) to coordinate with shop foreman
· Ability to work proactively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and perform duties with minimal supervision
· Enthusiastic and positive, with the ability to work well in a small team environment
· Must have necessary tools to fulfill requirements of the job
· Valid AZ license an asset
