- Run graders, loaders, tandem trucks, plows, and other heavy equipment safely and efficiently.
- Complete daily inspections, minor repairs, and preventative maintenance.
- Perform road repairs (patching, grading, resurfacing, drainage work).
- Support construction activities.
- Maintain culverts, ditches, signage, sidewalks, and road allowances.
- Winter operations including plowing, sanding, etc.
- Assist with parks and community spaces.
- Help with event setup/tear down and general upkeep.
- Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- 2 to 4 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and work order system software.
- Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to interact professionally with the public and staff.
- Understanding of road maintenance, construction and winter operations.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and problem solve.
- A valid Class DZ Ontario Drivers License with a satisfactory drivers abstract.
- Ability to respond to after hour calls within 30 minutes.
- This is a Permanent Full-Time position to fill a newly created vacancy, year-round due to growth.
- Normal hours of work are 40 hours per week including regular weekend, evening and on-call rotation work.
- Responding during storms, emergencies and unpredictable situations.
- Working across the Township at multiple yards.
- Pay Range: $27.18 to $33.98 per hour
