Key Responsibilities
Guest Experience & Service Excellence
- Deliver warm, anticipatory, and detail-oriented service in line with fine dining standards
- Guide guests through the menu with confidence, including daily features, tasting menus, and dietary accommodations
- Provide expert food and wine recommendations, demonstrating strong product knowledge and pairing intuition
- Maintain an elegant, composed presence on the floor, ensuring every guest interaction reflects professionalism and care
Leadership & Team Support
- Act as a point of leadership during service for servers and other FOH staff in real time
- Lead by example in service standards, appearance, and guest engagement
- Assist with training and onboarding of new team members, reinforcing service expectations and restaurant culture
- Help manage service flow, pacing, and communication between FOH and BOH
Operational Excellence
- Oversee section organization, table maintenance, and service timing to ensure a seamless dining experience
- Assist in pre-service briefings, including menu updates, wine features, and service notes
- Monitor and uphold cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety standards
- Support management with floor plans, reservations, and guest notes when needed
Wine & Beverage Knowledge
- Maintain a strong understanding of the wine list, including varietals, regions, and producers
- Confidently recommend pairings and upsell premium selections in a thoughtful, guest-focused manner
- Assist in maintaining proper wine service standards (decanting, presentation, etc.)
Qualifications
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant environment
- Proven leadership ability in a fast-paced, service-driven setting
- Strong knowledge of food, wine, and classic service techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Professional, polished, and detail-oriented demeanor
- Smart Serve Certification required
