Red Spade Ent. Ltd. is looking for an enthusiastic and hard working individual for courier/freight work. Must be neat in appearance and have a positive personality as these are customer facing positions. Must be on time and reliable. Experience driving 5 ton trucks and/or forklifts would be an asset. Must be able to work with limited supervision and work on their own as this is an out of town route with an early start time.
Duties
- Drive a vehicle to pick up and deliver freight safely
- Perform pre and post trip inspections on delivery vehicle
- Driving vehicles of various sizes (SUV, van, cube truck, 5-ton box truck)
- Moving freight as necessary - must be physically fit and able to lift at least 50 lbs, and move skids of varying sizes and weights
- Maintain accurate delivery records and complete paperwork correctly
Skills
- Must possess a clean "N" commercial driving abstract, a BC Class 5 Driver's licence, and at least 3 years of driving experience
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Ability to follow directions, perform under pressure, and work independently
- Ability to follow rules and regulations at pickup and delivery sites
- Skills in automotive repair can be an asset for basic maintenance tasks on vehicles
The successful applicant must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
This position will also require a data plan to keep in contact with our dispatcher.
Applicants will need to be able to lift/pull/push heavy weight without any issues. This is a very physical job. Must have a clean "N" commercial driver's abstract.
All of our trucks utilize two-way dash cameras and GPS tracking. We also use electronic logbook devices (ELD’s). We are a fully compliant company.
We are a 365 days per year and 24/7 operation.
