Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Phase 2 Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. As a Dental Assistant, you will work closely with the dentist and other dental professionals to provide exceptional patient care and ensure smooth clinic operations. You will utilize your expertise in assisting with advanced dental procedures, performing clinical tasks, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The ideal candidate is a motivated individual with a strong commitment to patient satisfaction and possesses excellent technical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting the dentist during dental procedures.
- Provide excellent patient care by creating a welcoming and comfortable environment, addressing patient concerns, and ensuring their comfort throughout their visit.
- Take dental x-rays while ensuring high-quality images while adhering to radiation safety protocols.
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing and organizing dental instruments and equipment, ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients and staff
- Provide chair side assistant to the dentist during patient exams, treatments and procedures, including passing instruments and suctioning
- Accurately record and maintain patient dental records, treatment information, and medical histories in compliance with privacy and confidentiality regulations
- Strictly adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a sterile and sanitary clinical environment, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials
Requirements:
- Phase 2 Dental Assisting Certificate
- Dental Assisting experience an asset but not required, new grads are welcome to apply!
- Team Player: Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with a willingness to assist colleagues and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment
- Communication skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, colleagues and dental professionals
- Flexibility and Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing situations, multi task, and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast paced dental environment clinic
- Professionalism: Maintain a professional demeanor, exhibit ethical behaviour and adhere to patient confidentiality guidelines at all times
