Benchmark Fabricators Inc. is a structural steel fabrication shop producing beams, columns, stairs, and miscellaneous metals for commercial and industrial projects.
Position Overview
We are seeking a CWB Certified Structural Welder to join our fabrication team. The ideal candidate is comfortable welding to drawings and WPS requirements in a fast-paced, quality-driven shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform FCAW, GMAW, and SMAW welding on structural steel components to CSA W59 standards
- Weld to approved Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and shop drawings
- Fit, tack, and assemble beams, columns, base plates, and miscellaneous steel
- Interpret welding symbols, blueprints, and fabrication drawings
- Perform visual inspection of own welds and grind/repair as required
- Operate overhead cranes, grinders, and oxy-fuel cutting equipment safely
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area per shop and CWB requirements
Qualifications
- Valid CWB (Canadian Welding Bureau) certification - flat, horizontal, and vertical positions
- 3+ years of structural welding experience in a fabrication shop
- Ability to read and interpret structural shop drawings and weld symbols
- Experience with overhead crane and rigging an asset
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to weld quality
- Ability to stand, bend, and lift for extended periods

Pay: $26.00 to $34.00 per hour
