Summary
REH is seeking experienced and safety-focused individuals to join our field operations team as Camp Maintenance. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys remote camp environments, takes pride in maintaining organized and functional camps, and is confident working independently in a hands-on operational setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Camp Setup & Maintenance
- Assist with the setup, organization, and teardown of remote exploration camps.
- Maintain sleeping quarters, kitchen areas, first aid stations, outhouses, fuel storage areas, and common camp spaces.
- Monitor camp condition and carry out regular maintenance and repairs as required.
- Ensure camp layouts remain safe, functional, and compliant with operational and environmental standards.
- Camp Operations & Logistics Support
- Support daily camp operations including supply organization, fuel handling, and resupply coordination.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and organizing equipment and supplies delivered by truck, trailer, ATV, or helicopter.
- Maintain organized storage areas and ensure equipment is ready for field use.
- Work collaboratively with field crews and supervisors to support project timelines.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.
- Participate in daily safety meetings, toolbox talks, and field-level hazard assessments (FLHAs).
Qualifications & Requirements
- Previous experience in camp maintenance, camp operations, construction, or remote field support roles preferred.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying 50 lbs or more regularly.
- Comfortable working long shifts in remote outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License required; equipment experience is considered an asset.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools preferred.
- Intermediate First Aid with Transportation Endorsement is considered an asset.
