BASE CREW FOREMAN
Overview
BREYCON Construction is a leading civil construction company specializing in paving, road construction, and civil infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Base Crew Foreman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing the daily activities of the crew, ensuring productivity, safety, and the successful completion of projects on time and within budget. Must have good work ethic, teamwork skills, and safety focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Crew Leadership & Supervision: Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of the crew on-site, ensuring efficient work processes and high-quality standards. Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring tasks are completed safely and effectively.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with the Project Superintendent to set production deadlines and daily goals. Ensure that all crew activities align with the project schedule and project milestones.
- Tracking & Reporting: Monitor and track quantities of materials, equipment, and labor usage. Ensure that all information is accurately documented and communicated to the Superintendent for proper project tracking.
- Project Meetings & Updates: Participate in project meetings, providing updates on crew performance, challenges, and any resource requirements. Stay up to date with all project details and ensure that the crew is aligned with project goals.
- Safety Compliance: Maintain a strong focus on safety on-site, ensuring all work is performed according to safety standards and regulations. Address any safety concerns promptly to prevent accidents or delays.
- Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any on-site issues related to the crew or project needs in a timely and effective manner to minimize delays.
Requirements and Skills
- Proven experience as a Foreman in civil construction or a related field
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and construction plans
- Knowledge of construction methods, tools, and materials
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude
- Safety focused; able to work safely and stay alert at all times
- Able to give and take instruction and work with all crews to perform project requirements
- Physical strength, stamina and coordination to perform various weather conditions
- Able to pass drug and alcohol testing if required
- Must maintain a courteous and professional manner with supervisors, co-workers, customers, and the public at all times
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial
Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License
- CSTS and WHIMIS required; additional safety and construction certifications and other related training is beneficial
