Role Overview
The position will be responsible for designing and executing experiments to support the development of innovative LC-MS-based solutions for metabolomics, lipidomics, and related small-molecule analysis. This role will work closely with scientists and researchers to identify and evaluate new analytical targets, develop and optimize assays, improve existing protocols, and ensure reliable HPLC/UPLC and LC-MS instrument performance through routine operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Develop a thorough understanding of the company’s technologies, LC-MS methods, assay platforms, products, and R&D objectives.
- Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC/UPLC and LC-MS systems for method development, assay optimization, validation, and routine sample analysis.
- Develop, optimize, and improve LC-MS-based methods and workflows for metabolomics, lipidomics, and small-molecule analysis.
- Support the development of new analytical products, assays, methods, and workflows from planning through implementation.
- Review scientific literature to identify emerging LC-MS technologies, analytical strategies, and research opportunities.
- Perform laboratory experiments and sample processing in accordance with SOPs, safety requirements, and project objectives.
- Process, analyze, interpret, and summarize LC-MS data using appropriate software, statistical methods, and visualization tools.
- Maintain accurate experimental records, instrument logs, maintenance documentation, SOPs, and project reports.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with internal teams, external collaborators, users, clients, and vendors.
- Support scientific publications, patent-related documentation, laboratory organization, inventory management, and other tasks as assigned.
Skill and Qualifications
- M.Sc. in analytical chemistry or other relevant fields.
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience with LC-MS instrumentation in the pharmaceutical, CRO, chemical, analytical testing, metabolomics, lipidomics, or related industry.
- Hands-on experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HPLC/UPLC and LC-MS systems.
- Experience with LC-MS method development, optimization, validation, and routine sample analysis is preferred.
- Knowledge of metabolomics, lipidomics, small-molecule analysis, or bioanalytical workflows is an asset.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis, data interpretation, and data visualization.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
