We are looking for a talented Field Service Technician who can hit the ground running. As a Field Service Technician for Surgeson Electric, you will possess strong repair skills and provide unmatched service to our customers. You will perform mechanical troubleshooting, and various electrical tests as you diagnose and repair units. Applicant must demonstrate a willingness to learn and explain, backed up by a solid educational and / or work experience background.
Key Responsibilities and Expectations:
- Customer site field services such as: preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, installation, and start-up assistance on the following equipment.
- Motors
- Pumps
- Gearboxes
- Cooling Towers
- VFDs
- Removal and installation of motors, pumps, and related equipment
- Prepare notes and follow-up with customers
Qualifications and Competencies:
- Motor Systems Tech. / Motor Rewinding or Millwright / Industrial Mechanic
- Minimum 3 years experience in applicable field
- Valid driver’s license
- Excellent customer relationship skills
- Proficient in the use of all testing and troubleshooting equipment
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to understand and work within processes and systems
- Electric motor experience
- Knowledge of vibration analysis or balancing would be an asset.
- Experience on variable frequency drives, soft starters and automation would be an asset
Additional Requirements:
- Work safely and adhere to company and customer safety requirements
- Be willing to work overtime, occasionally
- Must have or able to obtain Federal Government Security Clearances
- Be able to communicate both orally and in writing
- Lifting heavy objects up to 50 pounds

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
