This roll plays an integral hands-on role in delivery of excellent services.
ABILITY TO WORK WHEN REQUIRED DURING SNOW EVENTS
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Minimum 1year experience in horticulture, landscaping or park maintenance
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Experience running a plow or snow removal equipment an asset.
- Must have skid steer experience 50+ hours
- Flexible hours - rotating weekend coverage as required.
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various soft-scape and hard-scape tasks.
- Experience with HVAC, Building Maintenance, Asphalt, Plumbing, Electrical, etc. an asset
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Time management skills
- Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to multitask
- Excellent team player with ability to maintain a positive, helpful attitude
- Excellent observation skills and a strong attention to detail

JOB RELATED DUTIES:
Actively participate as directed in the day-to-day activities of maintenance operations including but not limited to:
- Perform regular maintenance and SNOW removal
- Maintain the parks trail system and perform pathway remediation
- Perform Building checks/inspections and complete maintenance tasks as required
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and other necessary equipment to complete job tasks
- Perform other manual duties to clean and maintain landscaped environments, shop and equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections, lubricating, and cleaning on a daily basis
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
- Comply with all company policies and regulations
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner
- Locating and addressing quality control issues;
- Identifying hazards, proposing solutions;
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Become familiar with and consistently abide by all company policies and procedures;
- Perform the assigned duties and responsibilities in a diligent and professional manner in keeping with company standards and the specific defined scope of work;
- Be a champion for excellence, seeking improvements to systems, operations, and procedures that lead to improved performance and effectiveness of the organization;
- Complete and record accurate Work Orders, Log Sheets, and other documentation in accordance with company procedures, to be processed and stored in a timely and orderly manner;
- Maintain vehicles and equipment in a neat and orderly condition and good working order, reporting any maintenance concerns at the end of every shift;
- Minimize risk exposure;
- Ensure timely reporting and correction of all safety related incidents and violations;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and reporting requirements;
This is a full-time, year-round position with medical benefits & competitive wages. Wages are dependent on skillset and experience.
