Overview
Hilaka Contracting is looking for an experienced and dependable Heavy Duty Mechanic to become part of our team. This role involves servicing and repairing our fleet of trucks and trailers to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete inspections, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
- Identify mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and carry out necessary repairs.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and improve performance.
- Repair or replace damaged components such as engines, wiring, hydraulic systems, and other mechanical parts.
- Safely use shop equipment including hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
- Keep detailed maintenance and repair records up to date.
- Work independently as well as alongside other team members when needed.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic or similar role.
- Strong understanding of truck and trailer systems, hydraulics, electrical diagnostics, and welding.
- Ability to interpret service manuals, schematics, and technical documents.
- Experience performing routine maintenance and equipment assembly.
- Skilled in safely operating shop tools and repair equipment.
- Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Wage
- Wage offered will depend on experience and qualifications.
Position Details
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
