Position Title: Delivery Driver
Location: Saanichton, BC, V8M 1Z7
Starting Minimum: $21/hour
Job Type: Full Time Permanent
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
- Daily vehicle inspection: including verifying warning lights, fluids and pressures are all in working order.
- Performing product delivery to customers in a courteous and well-presented manner.
- Loading and unloading trucks.
- Collecting payments as advised.
- Assisting warehouse staff in keeping warehouse, freezer and cooler areas tidy and organized.
- Picking and assembling orders when required.
- Handling and organization of pallets and cases.
- Clean up and disposal of all garbage and debris in the truck cab and cargo area.
- Maintain cleanliness of the vehicle’s interior, exterior and cargo area. Including washing and vacuuming on a bi-weekly basis or as required.
- Operating forklift, pallet jack and trucks in a safe and responsible manner.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Valid driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
- Previous work experience will be considered an asset.
- Truck driving (5 ton) experience.
- Training will be provided.
- Familiarity with local routes will be considered an asset.
- Willingness to work in a cold environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks requiring lifting, carrying, and moving objects weighing 30+ lbs. safely and effectively.
- Physical fitness and stamina to sustain prolonged periods of activity, repetitive movements, and manual labor.
- Previous work experience is an asset but not required.
- Training will be provided.
- Commitment to safety standards and practices.
