Line Cooks are responsible for preparing our dishes to Bellstar standards, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction. Our Line Cooks do their best to make each meal with high-quality ingredients and care, to make our guests' restaurant experience amazing.

Responsibilities for this role include:
- Preparing all menu items to recipe standards with the highest quality of cooking techniques and products
- Setting up the line ready for service, ensuring stock levels are on par with business levels
- Safely operating all kitchen equipment, ensuring it is cleaned and put away properly
- Assisting in the preparation and execution of buffet and banquet dining
- Acting as a role model to other members of the kitchen team
- Assisting in maintaining the overall cleanliness and organization of the kitchen & storage areas
- Following all food safe standards
- Adhering to all health and safety polices and procedures, and report any issues to Management immediately
- Assisting with inventory control and inform Management of any low or out of stock items
- Following all legislative requirements and internal standards, policies, and procedures while upholding the company’s core values
- Other relevant and related duties as assigned
The “must haves”:
- Previous cooking experience with knowledge of various cooking procedures/techniques
- Ability to follow all sanitation standards according to provincial health regulations
- Ability to work unsupervised independently and in a team environment
- Desire to maintain a constant sense of urgency and productivity in a fast-paced environment
- Positive and energetic attitude
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Great organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Physical ability to repeatedly push, pull and lift up to 40lbs as well as stand, bend, twist and stretch for long periods of time
- Qualified applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and, where applicable, possess a valid work or study permit that allows the candidate to fulfill the requirements of the role
The “nice to haves”:
- Registered apprentice or equivalent culinary education
- Valid Food safety/sanitation certification
- Valid certification in First Aid
- Valid certification in WHIMS
