Job Overview
We are seeking a caring, reliable, and energetic Responsible Adult or Early Childhood Educator Assistant to support children and youth from Kindergarten through Grade 12 in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
The successful candidate will oversee daily programming, supervise children and youth, support positive social interactions, and help create enriching recreational and educational activities.
This position is to begin mid - end of August and will be flexible position with after-school hours during the academic year and daytime/full-time hours available during school breaks and summer. This position also has the opportunity to work full days depending on subbing availability and certification.
Responsibilities
- Create and implement daily lesson plans and educational activities for children Kindergarten to 12 years.
- Provide attentive caregiving to ensure the safety and well-being of all children.
- Support children's learning by engaging them in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development.
- Help maintain a clean and organized classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster positive relationships.
- Observe and document children's progress and behavior to assist in their development.
- Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
- Responsible Adult certification, ECE Assistant certification
- Experience working with children and youth preferred
- Valid Child Care First Aid and CPR certification
- Criminal Record Check suitable for working with children
- Two references who have directly supervised your work with children
- Immunization declaration
- Food Safe is an asset
